I doubt any of you ever met him, but Charles L Phillips, BMCM, USN, Retired, passed away late yesterday afternoon. He served during WWII, went back in for Korea and then spent 30 years in the reserves. He wasn't that enamored with boats after his active duty time, but he admired and appreciated fine sail boats. He also enjoyed sailing with Toni and me over the last 8 years when ever he was in town. He's the one that made sure I was able to learn how to sail a Snipe when I was 14, so I reckon he installed that sailing addiction I've maintained ever since.

So here's to you, Master Chief, and wonderful Father!

We will miss you but we will never forget you!!!

Thanks, everyone. And Ron, many thanks for posting that picture! It's from the last visit we had with Daddy at Thanksgiving. I've got some others from sailing that'll find when I get back from Cleveland GA.

Thank you Mr Phillips for helping to create a world where a German Woman and a British man can have beautiful children that have never known warfare.
